To Do:
Daily Mass + Morning or Evening Prayer (prayed after Mass at church)
Morning Prayer at home when Mass is in the evening or at noon (children read psalms aloud, alternating verses -- actually, the three of us take turns)
Combined School Odd-Week Reading (substituting F.J. Gould's The Children's Plutarch: Tales of the Greeks for Eva March Tappan's The Story of the Greek People. Tappan's chapters are a bit long and expository for my listeners right now; Gould is a bit livelier, being focused on characters in Greek history. Today we read and narrated about Aristides)
Note: for Friday's science reading, substitute Archimedes and the Door of Science weekly until finished.
Lenten hymn for the week: "Jesu, Dulcis Memoria"
Lenten reading: Wednesday and Friday, My Path to Heaven (Bliss & Houselander)
One lesson daily in Draw Write Now (child's choice), cursive workbook, math skills workbook
Science: one hands-on experiment in Magic Schoolbus Human Body kit
Independent reading:
R: The Adventures of Danny Meadow Mouse; The Mitchells: Five for Victory
B: Rolf and the Viking Bow
Bedtime reading: Through the Looking Glass
Compline
NB: Read-aloud queue for the rest of the year:
The Luck of Troy (Roger Lancelyn Green)
Nacar the White Deer (Elizabeth Borton de Trevino)
